Newton Town Show and music festival to take place at Mesnes Park
Since 2013, the Newton and Earlestown Community Group have organised the Newton Town Show, which has become an increasingly popular attraction over the years.
One of the biggest free events in the region, the Mesnes Park event provides something for all ages including a funfair and inflatables, as well as a military vehicle display and classic car show.
With the funfair open from Friday until Sunday, there will also be a brass band and variety of stall holders and food and drink vendors to support the main event, which will take place from 11am on Saturday, August 2.
Last year’s Newton Music Fest was the first for two decades (Image: St Helens Star) Additionally, following the growing success of the Town Show, organisers relaunched Newton Music Festival last year, which was the first music festival organised in Newton for more than 20 years.
With The K’s headlining last year’s event, the Earlestown indie heroes are back to headline the festival once again, hoping to use the gig to celebrate a Number One album following the release of Pretty On The Internet last week.
Taking place at Mesnes Park on Saturday, August 2, Megan Wynn, Alex Spencer, Gondolas, Freight, and The Bemonts are also scheduled to perform alongside The K’s.
The Mesnes Park festival will also host acts such as The Nextman, Beatles Dub Club, Dave Haslam, and Medulla on Friday, August 1, and tribute acts including ABBA Vision, Queen Flash, and Rubber Sole on Sunday, August 3.
