Priston Music Festival 2025 promises a wonderful family weekend near Bath – The Bath and Wiltshire Parent
If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed weekend out with the family this September, the Priston Music Festival is back for its 16th year, bringing an exciting mix of live music and activities to the pretty Somerset village of Priston, just a short drive from Bath.
Running from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st September, the festival offers an impressive line-up of 36 acts across two specially built stages, plus performances in the village hall, the Ring O’ Bells pub, and the local church. Music lovers of all ages will find something to enjoy, with everything from pop, rock, blues and folk, to country and world music filling the air over the late summer weekend.
What makes the festival especially appealing for families is the fantastic range of free children’s events and creative workshops happening alongside the music. Kids can dive into eco-art workshops, enjoy puppet shows with Planet Puppets, listen to stories in the Story World tent, and even try their hand at juggling and nature crafts. There’s a real buzz of creativity for young festivalgoers to soak up, while parents and carers relax with great tunes and delicious food.
Music workshops are on offer for all ages, with chances to join in ukulele sessions, skiffle, harmony singing, community choir, and folk workshops. On Sunday morning, a colourful and lively display of Morris dancing by five different sides adds a traditional touch that will enchant both children and adults alike.
When it comes to food and drink, the festival doesn’t disappoint. Visitors can enjoy tasty treats from a variety of stalls, including cream teas perfect for a sunny afternoon. There’s also a friendly pub and bars on site to keep the grown-ups refreshed.
Entry to the main festival is free, with just a small £10 charge for parking per car per day (car sharing is encouraged to help keep things green). The only ticketed event is the opening night gig on Friday in the Village Hall, featuring the fabulous Mishra — tickets are available on the festival website.
With its mix of live music, creative workshops, family-friendly entertainment, and a warm community vibe, Priston Music Festival offers an ideal opportunity for families to enjoy a day or weekend of fun in a beautiful countryside setting.
