Daijiworld Media Network- New Delhi
New Delhi, Aug 3: Passengers bound for Chennai from Singapore faced unexpected delays after Air India cancelled its scheduled flight AI349 on Sunday owing to a technical snag.
The flight, which was to be operated using an Airbus A321 aircraft, was grounded after a maintenance task identified before take-off required additional time for rectification.
Confirming the development, Air India issued a statement saying that necessary arrangements are underway to transport passengers to Chennai at the earliest. The airline has assured hotel accommodation for affected passengers and is offering full refunds or complimentary rescheduling as per individual preference.
Efforts are ongoing by ground staff in Singapore to minimise inconvenience to the stranded travellers. The cancellation comes amidst a string of recent technical issues reported across Air India’s fleet.
