The Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries has started in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone
A flag-raising ceremony was held today in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone to mark the opening of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Representatives of the official delegations of Turkmenistan and the United Nations took part in the ceremony. During the event, the flags of the host country and the UN were raised, symbolically marking the beginning of the conference.
The holding of such a large-scale international forum in Turkmenistan takes on special significance in the context of two important anniversaries: the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
The conference is attended by heads of many states, as well as leaders and representatives of international organizations. The event is aimed at discussing issues of sustainable development, including energy, transport, ecology and environmental protection.
