Civil Society Forum started in Avaza within the framework of UN Conference on LLDCs
The Civil Society Forum, organized within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC), has started in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone.
As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports, the forum brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, the scientific community and the civil sector to discuss key areas of sustainable development and the implementation of the Avaza Action Program.
The forum is attended by high-level officials, including the UN Under-Secretary-General, the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island States, as well as representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan, trade unions and the business community.
The main objective of the event is to create a productive platform for developing priorities, sharing innovative solutions and best practices, and establishing partnerships for the sustainable development of landlocked countries. Particular attention is paid to issues of finance, trade, climate change and other global challenges.
The Forum serves as an important step towards strengthening the role of civil society in the implementation of the international agenda and promotes the integration of LLDCs’ interests into decision-making processes at the global level.
