Indiana State Fair unveils art of music experience – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– The Indiana State Fair has unveiled the Art of Music Experience, an interactive exhibit celebrating iconic album covers and musical history, at the fairgrounds this summer.
The exhibit, described as the ‘soundtrack of summer,’ features classic album covers from legendary artists like Michael Jackson and Prince. It offers visitors a chance to explore music history through visual art and interactive experiences.
“This is a great experience and a great art piece,” Leroy Lewis, Director of Community and Media Engagement at the Indiana State Fairgrounds said. “There’s a story behind a lot of the album covers, and you get some of that in here as well.”
The Art of Music Experience is designed to be both educational and entertaining, with themed educational experiences for young people. It includes a pop-up music store from Indie Vinyl and CD, and a Neon Speakeasy where visitors can enjoy music and refreshments.
Leroy Lewis emphasized the importance of music as a connecting thread across generations, noting that the exhibit helps bridge generational gaps by showcasing album covers and artists from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
The exhibit also features live painting of album covers, adding a dynamic element to the experience. This creative approach aims to inspire visitors and enhance their appreciation for the artistry involved in music production.
The Art of Music Experience at the Indiana State Fairgrounds not only celebrates musical heritage but also provides a refreshing indoor space for fairgoers to escape the summer heat. As Leroy Lewis stated, the fair is committed to blending tradition with innovation to remain a top destination.
