Anthropic Chief Executive Dario Amodei pulled in total compensation of $18 million last year.
According to the artificial intelligence startup’s newly unveiled initial public offering prospectus, the figures place the Claude developer’s chief executive squarely in the middle of the tech industry pack, trailing top earners at legacy giants while outstripping standard executive baselines.
The package leans heavily on equity components, including stock and options, alongside an annual salary.
Amodei’s pay last year puts him above CEOs at Alphabet, and Amazon, but behind those at Oracle and Nvidia.
Dario Amodei and his sister, Anthropic President Daniela Amodei, each had their annual salaries doubled this past July to $1.4 million.
Stock and options awards made up the bulk of their packages in 2025, with Daniela Amodei receiving a total of $16.4 million last year.
Anthropic’s board this year granted the pair the promise of further equity in the form of restricted stock units, which promise a future payout if certain conditions are met.Â
Some of that is tied to their remaining at the company, and some of it is tied to the IPO. Â
The financial disclosures arrive as Anthropic lays the groundwork for a massive public market debut that could value the AI lab in the multi-trillion-dollar range.
Despite the eye-catching compensation figures, the filing also highlights that Amodei and his fellow co-founders have formally pledged to dedicate a vast majority of their personal equity holdings to philanthropic causes.
According to Reuters, Anthropic is preparing for an IPO as early as this fall that could value it at more than $2 trillion.
