Ola’s AI venture Krutrim has partnered with hybrid data platform Cloudera to support large-scale analytics and data lake operations for the ride hailing company on Krutrim Cloud.

A data lake is a central repository that stores large volumes of raw data in its native format.

The collaboration will help Krutrim leverage data and AI to boost operations, improve user experience and support development of advanced data engineering, AI training and inference.

Tapping the Cloudera services, Krutrim will process large-scale data in real time from multiple data sources to offer accurate intelligence to businesses, startups and researchers in India.

“We are focused on building India’s cloud with deep integrated capabilities across infrastructure, data and AI to better serve the unique needs of the Indian market,” said Navendu Agarwal, senior vice president and head of business at Krutrim.

Krutrim’s Full Stack AI Offerings

The Bhavish Aggarwal-led startup is building a cloud infrastructure tech stack which will offer compute, storage, data management and AI-powered end applications solutions to enterprises at scale.

Lately, Krutrim has been proactively taking steps to develop its AI and cloud infrastructure. Last month, the startup announced the acquisition of BharatSah’AI’yak to support the development of its cloud infrastructure, AI models and the recently launched agentic AI chatbot Kruti.

In March, Krutrim also partnered with Lenovo to develop a supercomputer that will further enhance the performance of its cloud infrastructure offerings.

Various AI models are also available for developers to test, build, and deploy applications. For instance, Meta’s Llama 4 models are being hosted on its Krutrim’s cloud in the price range of INR 7 to INR 17 per Mn tokens.

Besides, it also began hosting open source AI models of Chinese GenAI company DeepSeek on its cloud platform.

While the startup is pushing for growth in its cloud and AI offerings, it also saw a layoff of about 100 employees,, citing “strategic realignment” and an attempt to build leaner teams to manage resources better.
