Tanzila Narbaeva Meets with UN Secretary-General’s High Representative Rabab Fatima

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Rabab Fatima, the High Representative of the UN Secretary-General, during the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries taking place in the city of Avaza.

Alongside attending plenary sessions and panel discussions, the Uzbek delegation is conducting a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of international organizations and parliaments from various countries.

During the meeting, Rabab Fatima praised the organization of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Tashkent, noting that the activities of Uzbekistan’s Senate serve as a model for many national parliaments worldwide.

Special attention was given to strengthening friendly and good-neighborly relations among the Central Asian countries, whose importance for regional development and the well-being of their peoples continues to grow. The parties also discussed the development of foreign trade, transportation and communication infrastructure, as well as plans to expand international cooperation.

Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the measures necessary to ensure the execution of the outcomes adopted at the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
