Guterres appoints Swedish national Richardson as Deputy UN Envoy and Resident Coordinator in Libya
United Nations Secretary General António Guterres on Friday announced the appointment of Swedish national Ingeborg Ulrika Richardson as the new Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya and Resident Coordinator in the country.
Richardson succeeds Zimbabwe’s Raisedon Zenenga, with the Secretary-General expressing his gratitude for Zenenga’s dedicated service during the interim period, according to a statement published on the official UN website.
Richardson brings over 30 years of experience in development, humanitarian assistance, and post-conflict recovery, with a focus on complex political, social, and economic contexts as well as human rights.
