Hawaii’s home football game televised by Spectrum Sports will not be on pay-per-view and instead will be broadcast live without any additional cost, UH announced today.
In a post on social media, Hawaii athletics director Matt Elliot said, “I’m proud to announce for the first time ever, all of our home football games this season will be televised live. So maybe take that pay-per-view money and buy tickets to one or more of our games this season.”
Hawaii’s season-opening game against Stanford on Saturday, Aug. 23, is being broadcast by CBS.
UH’s other six home games — Sam Houston, Portland State, Fresno State, Utah State, San Diego State, Wyoming — will be broadcast by Spectrum Sports and available to Spectrum TV and Hawaiian Telcom customers with no extra fees or broadcast delays.
The move is part of a 1-year contract extension between UH and Spectrum after the last contract expired in June.
Football and men’s basketball are expected to be a part of the Mountain West Conference’s new TV deal which begins in 2026.
