Sony ULT Tower 9, ULT Field 5, ULT Mic 1 and more launched in India: price, features, availability

Sony India has introduced the second-generation ULT Power Sound series, adding five new products to its audio portfolio. The lineup includes two wireless party speakers, the ULT Tower 9 and ULT Tower 9AC, two portable Bluetooth speakers, the ULT Field 5 and ULT Field 3 and a wireless dual microphone, the ULT Mic 1. All products in the series feature an “ULT” button, offering one or two bass enhancement modes, and are designed to deliver Sony’s signature low-frequency performance.

ULT Tower 9 and ULT Tower 9AC Features

The ULT Tower 9 and ULT Tower 9AC are designed as high-capacity party speakers, delivering 360° Party Sound and 360° Party Light for an immersive experience. The ULT Tower 9 and ULT Tower 9AC feature selectable bass modes, a water-resistant top panel, a built-in handle and casters for portability, along with an in-built rechargeable battery. Sony’s sound field optimisation adjusts audio output based on ambient noise and Party Connect enables linking up to 100 compatible speakers. The ULT Tower 9 offers a 25-hour battery life with fast charging, while the ULT Tower 9AC is a plug-and-play option for continuous operation and doesn’t feature an in-built battery. Both variants bring support for karaoke and guitar input along with a TV Sound Booster mode.

ULT Field 5 Features

The ULT Field 5 is a portable Bluetooth speaker aimed at outdoor and travel use and offers up to 25 hours of battery life, IP67-rated water, dust, shock and saltwater resistance. It features a multi-way strap for greater portability and ease. You can also tune the speaker for deep bass with ULT Power Sound or personalise the sound using the 10-band custom equaliser. The sound field optimisation maintains clarity in noisy surroundings and multi-device connection enables seamless switching between two devices. It also supports Party Connect for simultaneous playback with upto 100 units and the whole setup can be controlled via the Sound Connect app.

ULT Field 3 Features

The ULT Field 3 offers a similar rugged and portable design to the Field 5, but with a slightly reduced 24-hour battery life. It gets the same IP67 protection, ULT Power Sound feature and multi-way strap for portability, along with support for sound field optimisation, multi-device connection and the ability to link with other speakers via Party Connect. Like the Field 5, it includes a 10-band custom equaliser and app control.

ULT Mic 1 Features

The ULT Mic 1 is a wireless microphone designed for karaoke, jam sessions and live performances. The Mic 1 provides clear vocals with minimal background noise and includes duet assist to balance audio levels between both mics during live duet performances. It offers up to 20 hours of use and a quick charge for 10 minutes provides upto 120 minutes of usage. It also has plug-and-play connectivity via a dongle and USB charging, making it convenient to power on the go.

As part of a launch promotion, buyers of the ULT Tower 9 or ULT Tower 9AC will receive a Sony Wireless Mic worth Rs 19,990 at no additional cost. The products are available at Sony retail outlets, ShopatSC.com, major electronics stores and other e-commerce retailers across India.

Speaking on the launch, Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director of Sony India, said the new range aligns with the company’s focus on innovation and immersive sound experiences. He also confirmed the appointment of singer Karan Aujla as the brand ambassador for the ULT range. Aujla described the series as capable of delivering “deep, soul-stirring bass and crystal-clear sound,” both at home and on the move.
