BeeFare: Honey Bee Festival

Bee Friends Farm and Local Fare Jax are teaming up to present the 6th Annual Honey Bee Festival—a family-friendly celebration of bees, beekeeping and local food culture. Enjoy hands-on beekeeping activities, a honey tasting bar with Florida varieties, cooking demonstrations and food samples throughout the day, and more than 60 local vendors. Visit the Ask-a-Beekeeper booths, with experts from Jacksonville, Clay County and Nassau County beekeepers’ associations; graze Food Truck Alley; and let the kids enjoy the Bee-a-Kid Zone.

Tribute to Black Music: I Love Music

Conference Center at the Main Library | Downtown Jax

Two remarkable hometown talents are returning to the stage for the Tribute to Black Music: I Love Music. Trumpeter Alphonso Horne, Jr.—a LaVilla, Douglas Anderson, and Juilliard graduate, multi-GRAMMY nominee, and New York Times–praised “devastating trumpeter”—will be joined by saxophonist Allana Southerland Prince, a Douglas Anderson and University of North Florida alum who has performed with Beyoncé, Fantasia, Charlie Wilson and Herbie Hancock. The show will celebrate both rising stars and seasoned veterans.
