Bulgaria’s first Museum of Science and Art – Phenomena – opens its doors in Sofia on Sunday, October 25. Located at Knyaginya Maria Luiza Blvd. 11, the museum offers visitors a blend of scientific discoveries, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in the spirit of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) education, the team announced.

The exhibition features more than 100 interactive installations spread over an area of more than 500 square metres. Visitors will be able to experiment with physical phenomena, control a robotic dog, “create lightning,” and bring works of art to life through movement and light. Among the exhibits are also wind-powered mechanical creatures, interactive puzzles, and demonstrations of natural structures such as crystals and feathers, the team said.

The museum’s creator is Miryan Kostadinov – a musician, designer, and researcher, known as the frontman of the rock band Miry. He holds a degree in Fine Art and Design from the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom and previously studied mathematics and physics. His experience with interactive exhibitions across Europe inspired him to create a space “where science comes alive and art tells stories,” the team noted.
