Louis Vuitton teams up with Pat McGrath for first makeup line

Expanding the French fashion house’s vision rooted in travel, creativity, and savoir-faire, this elevated makeup line introduces a highly curated offering of the finest quality makeup—housed in objets d’art designed to be kept forever.

Appointing Dame Pat McGrath, DBE, as creative director, cosmetics, for La Beauté, Louis Vuitton invites the world to discover this partnership with the most influential makeup artist to shape a universe of beauty through innovation, emotion, and luxury. More than just products, it is the expression of identity, artistry, and empowerment.

“Makeup is culture. It’s power. It’s presence. And it’s personal. Luxury in makeup is about performance, craftsmanship, and sensoriality. It’s about textures that feel exquisite, colors that captivate, and formulas that perform flawlessly,” says McGrath.

“True luxury is when every detail is considered—from the way the pigment melts into the skin to the way a lipstick feels in your hand,” she continues. “It’s the fusion of artistry and technology, of heritage and innovation.”

In her new role, McGrath brings three decades of boundary-pushing artistry to a house known for avant-garde expression. Her long-standing collaboration with Louis Vuitton fashion now evolves into a permanent expression of beauty that has been crafted with the meticulousness of couture.

La Beauté: Louis Vuitton, but with a twist

The collection debuts with lipsticks, balms, and eyeshadows—objects of desire that echo the trunk-making, artistry, and cultural vision at the heart of Louis Vuitton, each with a McGrath twist.

At the heart of La Beauté Louis Vuitton lies 55 shades of lipstick expression—including the “guiding stars” 896 Monogram Rouge, 203 Rose Odyssée, and 854 Rouge Louis—that embody the maison’s dedication to craft, symbolism, and timeless codes. “Lipstick is presence. It’s a signature in a single stroke. It’s how women carry themselves in the world,” McGrath says.

Beneath intense pigmentation and exquisite sensoriality lies a formulation crafted with natural waxes from upcycled rose, jasmine, and mimosa flowers, then enriched with shea butter and hyaluronic acid that contribute to an 85 percent skincare base that bestows lips with eight-hour longwear vivid color and 12-hour moisture preservation.

Elsewhere, illuminating tints, eyeshadows that range from ultra-matte to gleaming glitter, and scented lipsticks and lip balms complete the line—packaged in minimalist and luxurious yet sustainable designs. This ethos lets the products transcend aesthetics that, according to industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, make them “functional, refillable, and worthy of being kept for years to come.”

“I’ve always said make-up is more than product: it’s performance, obsession, and emotion. This new chapter is about pushing craftsmanship into a new realm,” says McGrath.
