Maine Pyar Kiya star Hridhu Haroon Interview
What would you say about Maine Pyar Kiya?
I have no doubt that everyone, especially youngsters, will love this film. With comedy at its heart and thriller action and emotional elements throughout, it is a full-fledged entertainer. Watching it during the Onam holiday season would be enjoyable. This is my first commercial film that appeals to a wide age range of viewers, since my previous works were mostly for a specific audience.

You mentioned in our last interview that you were interested in learning about the various aspects of film. To what extent have you been able to follow it?
I do recall saying that I would like to learn how to edit, but I have not been able to take a step towards it as of yet. I was working on films and taking things gradually, basically finding time for myself. I am currently considering taking editing lessons from my sister, Riya, and make an effort to learn and comprehend the wider scope of this art form while I am primarily on the set.
My goal has been to keep improving my performance skills. As I mentioned before, I enjoy working with a talented and committed group of people. I don’t have any particular standards for the types of roles I want to play; all I know is that I enjoy doing films. I have a lot of potential that has to be explored, and I’m confident that it will be fantastic if I can do so with more intriguing projects.
With Nivin Pauly’s Sarvam Maya, your sister Riya Shibu is set to make her acting debut. She is an influencer on social media and a film producer as well. Are you influenced by her in any way?
She is an inspiration to me in many ways, particularly her ability to multitask and her perseverance in pursuing her goals. By nature, Riya is a grounded individual. She is a social media influencer, a film maker, and a student of visual communication. I do occasionally approach her for my PR works because she is quite creative.

What are your upcoming films?
My next is a Tamil film, Bad Girl, a coming of age women centric project, which will hit the big screen in September. I am also playing a pivotal role in Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude and Asif Ali-starrer Tiki Taka. I am also working in another Tamil project titled ‘Texas Tiger’, which is an intriguing and exciting one.
