Dragons drop soccer game in PKs 3-3 (6-5) | News, Sports, Jobs

DuBOIS — The Warren boys soccer team had a great test to start the season in a non-region contest against Altoona in the DuBois Kickoff Classic, ultimately falling 3-3 (6-5) in penalties on Friday night.

The Dragons were tied 1-1 at the half, with the score being knotted 3-3 at the end of regulation and in the tournament format needing extra time and penalty kicks for a winner.

Gabe Dougherty scored twice on assists from Trey Carrington, while Quinn Norris snuck a goal from Jack Chapman between the tallies.

Adon Maier made eight saves in the net, while in front of him Norris had 29 steals, Timmy Giger had 22 and Luc Wilkins added another 19.

Warren returns to the pitch on Wednesday when it hosts McDowell at 5 p.m.
