Southern’s football game against Bethune Cookman to be featured in Tampa Bay Classic – Crescent City Sports

The Southern University Jaguars will take on the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats in the inaugural Tampa Bay Football Classic on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The 69,218-seat stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will host the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matchup.

The game, originally scheduled for Daytona Stadium, promises a vibrant celebration of HBCU culture, featuring halftime performances by the Bethune-Cookman Marching Wildcats and, tentatively, Southern’s renowned Human Jukebox. “This event brings our communities together to celebrate the culture, sportsmanship, and richness of the Tampa Bay Area and its HBCU heritage,” said Andre “Lucky” White, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Football Classic.

Southern kicks off its 2025 season in the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge against North Carolina Central on August 23 in Atlanta. Don’t miss the Jaguars in this thrilling clash at the Tampa Bay Football Classic!
