Accomplished stage star Danna Davis will be in Longford to nurture the love of music

Accomplished singer Danna Davis is set to make her return to Longford as part of a training course for up and coming musicians.

Danna Davis, a speech and drama teacher with a range of experience in live performances, had previously worked in Longford as part of the Camlin Keys Festival back in July, where she ran a popular Vocal and Musical Theatre Workshop. 

Pitch and Pulse Drama School have said that they are “delighted” that Danna is coming to Longford, where she will work on a weekly basis to run Musical Mondays with Pitch and Pulse in St John’s National School, Battery Road, Longford.

Danna trained at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, at HB Studios and Michael Howard Studio in NYC and, on settling in Ireland, credits include Mikado! with Lyric Opera; Oliver!, Wizard of Oz, Sister Act all in the National Concert Hall, Grease (Gaiety), Aspects of Love and JFK: A Musical Drama (Olympia), The Taffeta’s (Gaiety), Beyond Therapy and Creatures in Andrew’s Lane Theatre. 

She has also appeared in the groundbreaking new musical, SISTERS! which premiered in the Dundrum’s Mill Theatre, Danna played the role of the iconic feminist socialist activist, Margaret Gaj.

Danna is also lended her voice for cartoon animation, with credits including Norman Normal (TG4), Zombie Hotel (BBC), The Ugly Duckling (Magma Films) and Ugly and Me (RTE),among many others.

Danna has performed in London in ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ and has been a featured soloist in Noel Coward Centenary Concert, Kander and Ebb’s And The World Goes Round, The Great American Songwriters Series, The Glorious MGM Musicals Concerts at the National Concert Hall. Her film credits include assistant vocal coach on the film Ella Enchanted.  

Educating the next generation of Singers and Musical Theatre stars, Danna previously lectured in Musical Theatre, DIT Rathmines and now teaches music and drama with Musical Youth Edenderry, as well as tutoring with MG Offaly.

“I am very excited to be teaming up with Joanna and Pitch and Pulse to run these classes. It is a great opportunity to share and nurture the love of music as well as encouraging good habits in vocal care”  said Danna.  

Early Years Singing and Music will run from 2:45 to 3:45 for Sr and Jr Infants age group. Musical Theatre singing and acting lessons with Danna from 3:45-4:30 and singing lessons in half-hour slots from 4:30 for all ages in groups of 3.
