Air India Express expands Ranchi services to five cities from September 1

Ranchi. Aug 26: In a major boost for air connectivity, Air India Express has announced expanded services from Ranchi to Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Indore, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram starting September 1. The flights will operate as transit services via major hubs—Bhubaneswar flights through Mumbai, Indore flights via Delhi and Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram flights through Bengaluru.

Airport Director R.R. Maurya said the changes would enhance passenger convenience by improving route connectivity. Schedules on some existing routes have also been adjusted for better coordination.

Additionally, Ranchi-Goa flights are expected to begin later in September after final trials. “The service will operate via Mumbai and is in its final stages of preparation,” an Air India Express official said.

The expansion is expected to ease travel for business and leisure passengers, further strengthening Ranchi’s role as an aviation hub in eastern India.
