Louis Vuitton Osaka hosts Yayoi Kusama artworks
The partnership between Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama dates back to 2012, marking one of the most successful and enduring collaborations between a luxury fashion house and a contemporary artist. Under then-creative director Marc Jacobs, the brand released the Dots Infinity collection, featuring Kusama’s signature polka dots across iconic Louis Vuitton bags like the Keepall, Neverfull and Speedy. This collaboration launched Kusama’s motifs into the fashion mainstream, blending her obsessive, repetitive visual language with Louis Vuitton’s heritage silhouettes.
A decade later, Kusama and Louis Vuitton reunited under the creative direction of Nicolas Ghesquière in the latest campaign called Creating Infinity. This time, the collection deepens the artistic references, incorporating Kusama’s mirrored spheres that recall her 1966 Venice Biennale installation, Narcissus Garden.
