Meet JioFrames, India’s answer to Meta’s AI-powered glasses- The Week
Reliance Industries Limited’s (RIL) JioFrames, announced on Monday at the company’s 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM), is one of its biggest forays into AI-centric wearable tech in India.
Made in India as well, the AI-powered smart glasses support various local languages. This comes in response to a boom in global demand for wearable technology, following the release of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali are some of the currently supported languages, with more to be added in the near-future, facilitating real-time translation, which can be a challenge in India.
Just like the Ray-Ban Meta, JioFrames can capture 1080p images and videos. Its open-ear speakers and microphone also facilitate calling, listening to music, and hands-free voice commands.
““It is a hands-free, AI-powered companion designed for the way India lives, works, and plays,” explained Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), who launched it.
The JioFrames launch was accompanied by the launch of RIYA, a new voice-enabled search assistant for JioStar, and JioPC, a device that can reportedly transform any TV or screen into a full-fledged AI-powered virtual computer.
RIYA has been marketed as a search assistant with capabilities beyond typical voice command responses.
“Finding what to watch in a world of thousands of hours of content can feel overwhelming. That is why we have built RIYA—your new voice-enabled search assistant that makes discovering content effortless. No more scrolling. No more searching. Just ask, and RIYA delivers,” Ambani said.
As for JioPC, Ambani explained that all it needed was a screen and a Jio set-top box.
“JioPC lives in the cloud, it is always up-to-date, secure, and you can remotely upgrade your memory, storage, and computing power based on your growing needs.”
