Summit Hotels Unveils Luxurious Sustainable Resort in Lamahatta, West Bengal, ETTravelWorld

Summit Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Summit Enigma Resort & Spa in Lamahatta, West Bengal, expanding its portfolio in Eastern India with a focus on sustainable, high-altitude hospitality.

Located 22 kilometres from Darjeeling town, the resort is positioned to provide both accessibility and seclusion. Guests can enjoy close proximity to Tiger Hill and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, while the retreat itself offers a quieter alternative to Darjeeling’s busy hill station environment.

Summit Enigma Resort & Spa offers direct, unobstructed views of the Kanchenjunga range, a feature usually associated with sunrise visits to Tiger Hill. Its 16 rooms are designed to frame the Himalayan landscape, ranging from intimate Premium Rooms to expansive Balcony Rooms with private viewpoints.

Wellness and sustainability form the core of the resort’s design. The Metta Spa introduces treatments inspired by regional traditions, supported by steam and sauna facilities, and a Jacuzzi positioned to face Kanchenjunga. Dining at the CloudSong Restaurant follows a farm-to-table approach, highlighting local produce and regional specialities, including the Desi Kukkad Curry.

Beyond luxury amenities, the property emphasises cultural and ecological integration. Guests can engage with nearby farming communities, observe sustainable mountain agriculture, and explore Lamahatta Eco Park. Wildlife sightings, including deer within the property, reinforce the resort’s approach to blending natural surroundings with guest experiences.
