Tyldesley couple enjoy launch of Resurrection record shop
Owning the Resurrection Promotions events and balloon shop on Elliott Street, Lynsey Boardman has helped many customers celebrate special occasions over the years.
And while Resurrection is one of the many independent business giving Tyldesley’s high street a boost, Lynsey and her husband Mark have long thought that the area was missing a music and record shop.
With the music-mad pair planning to open a record shop a few years ago, they recently decided to revive their dream and revamp their shop floor so that it now accommodates two businesses, Resurrection Promotions and Resurrection Records.

“We had already decided to open this quite a while ago, and it’s something that we think will work well in the area.
“We know that people love to go into a record shop, look through the records and chat about music, so this is what we want to do with Resurrection Records.”
The business also sells music merchandise and memorabilia (Image: Lynsey Boardman) Although there are not too many record shops in the area, Lynsey and Mark say that they don’t want to step on the toes of similar business’ like Sticky Black Tarmac in Leigh Spinners Mill.
While still offering an eclectic range of music and genres, Resurrection aims to offer a slightly different variety and specialise in Manchester music, as well as rare funk, soul, and hip hop collections.
There is also a selection of music merchandise and memorabilia on offer at Resurrection, which enjoyed a successful opening day on Bank Holiday Monday.

“It was amazing to see kids as young as 10 buying vinyl. We all know how intoxicating that first sniff of vinyl is!”
