An American expat who swapped the sunny skies of Los Angeles for Sydney has unleashed on her experience at her first Australian music festival.
Devynn, who attended the Listen Out festival in Sydney on Oct. 6, said the festival — with musicians including Skepta, 21 Savage, Sampa the Great, and DJ, Folamour — was the “worst experience of her life.”

Taking to TikTok, the fitness trainer said to her 3,000 followers on the platform that she went to the festival — held at Moore Park — because she was a “big fan of John Summit.”
“I love him and have seen so many of his shows…I’ve met him in person and he’s the loveliest person…I was so excited to go,” she explained, adding the drama started as soon as she arrived to the venue.
“Getting to the festival, we went to the bathroom and [were] patiently waiting in line. My friend and I were up next, and as the door opens and we’re gonna go into this porta-potty, this girl just comes and chucks us in the throat…and pulls my friend’s shirt to get her out of the bathroom. It was insane.”

She went on to explain the chaos extended to the John Summit set, where she and her friend entered the crowd “very sober,” but was horrified when a fellow concertgoer knocked her out of the way.
“I said hey, please say excuse me…in an instant he riles up his hand and smacks me across the face,” she said.
“So I got hit in the face by a guy…my boyfriend is now about to go and hit him. I ran and smack this guy. I’ve never seen a guy lay a hand on a woman at a festival…this was so f–ked, I want my money back.”

The post, which has received hundreds of comments, said etiquette is at its worst at some festivals, such as Listen Out.
“Listen Out is definitely the worst for festival etiquette unfortunately,” one wrote.
“A 6-foot grown man tried to take a swing at me in 2022 after I asked him to stop elbowing me…I’ve sworn off it since,” another added.
“I am seriously shook by this,” another responded.
