Louis Vuitton launches first La Beaute boutique in China

French luxury giant Louis Vuitton has opened its first standalone beauty boutique in China, marking a strategic move to solidify its position in the premium market and reconnect with Chinese consumers.

The boutique, located in Nanjing’s prestigious Deji Plaza, showcases the brand’s new beauty line, La Beaute, under the creative direction of renowned makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath. The collection features a curated range of products, including lipsticks, lip balms, eyeshadow palettes, and beauty accessories.

Among the highlights are the LV Rouge lipsticks, available in 55 shades across satin and matte finishes, retailing for approximately US$160 each. The line also includes 10 LV Baume lip balms and 8 LV Ombres eyeshadow palettes.

The launch comes as part of Louis Vuitton’s broader effort to re-engage China’s luxury consumers, following a 4 per cent decline in global revenue for the first half of FY25. The brand is responding to signs of weakening demand in China, driven in part by ongoing trade tensions between Beijing and Washington.
