World Bank Commits USD105M to Boost Cambodia Education Reform

(MENAFN) The World Bank has authorized $105 million in financial support for Cambodia’s education sector transformation, targeting improvements for more than 1.7 million students nationwide.

Monday’s announcement detailed the funding package, which combines a $100 million credit facility with a $5 million grant specifically designed to bolster fundamental reading and mathematics instruction across the Southeast Asian nation’s primary school system.

The comprehensive initiative will enhance early childhood education access and childcare provisions while elevating instructor standards and modernizing educational facilities throughout Cambodia. Additionally, the program aims to reinforce education administration frameworks across participating institutions.

The multi-year project represents a significant investment in Cambodia’s educational infrastructure, focusing on foundational academic skills that officials consider critical for long-term student success and national development goals.
