South Africa to start Asian tour with series against Pakistan before travelling to India
The South African cricket team will begin their Asian tour in October, with a series against Pakistan before travelling across the border for the two-Test series against India in November.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced a two-Test series against the Proteas to kickstart their 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle. The first Test, beginning October 12 will be played in Lahore followed by the second match from October 20 in Rawalpindi.

It will be the reigning WTC champions’ first Test series in Pakistan since 2021, where they suffered a 2-0 defeat against the hosts. After the Tests, the two sides will play six white-ball games – three T20Is and three ODIs.
The Test series will immediately be followed by the three T20Is, with the first match slated in Rawalpindi on October 28, and the remaining two games in Lahore on October 31 and November 1. The ODI series will be entirely staged at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, which is set to host its first 50-over international in 17 years, with the last one being against Bangladesh in April 2008.
The first ODI will be played on November 4, while the second and third games will be held on November 6 and 8, respectively.
Following the conclusion of the Pakistan tour, the South Africans will travel to India for two Tests, three one-day internationals and five T20 Internationals. The two Tests will be played in Kolkata and Guwahati with the first match starting on November 14. The second Test will start on November 22.
The three ODIs will be played in Ranchi (November 30), Raipur (December 3) and Visakhapatnam (December 6), followed by the five-match T20I series, starting December 9 at Cuttack. The Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali will host the second match on December 11 while the third game will be played at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, on December 14. The Ekana Stadium in Lucknow will host the penultimate T20I on December 17, while the fifth and final match will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on December 19.
