Patna Municipal Corporation: Patna Municipal Corporation Takes Action Against Unauthorized Advertisements | Patna News

Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to pull down all unauthorised banners and hoardings, which have been put up without taking permission from the civic body. The decision was taken during the 7th general meeting of the PMC here on Wednesday, which was chaired by the Patna Mayor Sita Sahu.
Municipal commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar said the civic body did not get a single penny from these advertisements.“A zero-tolerance approach will be adopted against the illegal advertisements since they eat up our revenue and deface the city. A ward-wise survey will be done and action will be taken accordingly. The teams will dismantle and remove all illegal and unauthorized displays, hoardings, display boards and posters from their respective zones,” he said.
Sahu said due to non-implementation of the advertising policy, the PMC bears the loss of revenue of at least Rs 50 crore every year. “Since 2019, I have been demanding the implementation of advertising policy from the state govt, but it has still not been implemented,” she said.
In view of Chhath Puja, the civic body has prepared the list of 180 ghats across the city, which will undergo repair work, maintenance and beautification, for the festivities, during which the devotees will offer prayer on the banks of Ganga river. Utilising the fund, lights will be installed around the ghats in all the wards and repair of the approach roads leading to Chhath ghats will be done.
A total of 12 proposals were passed which was tabled during the meeting, including transfer of lease rights of plots/ buildings/ flats situated in Rajendra Nagar, Sri Krishna Puri, PIT Colony and Beur by Patna Unnayan Nyas, presently known as Patna Regional Development Authority to the PMC, besides water supply, exchange of land, renovation and beautification of Ambedkar Bhawan and procurement of super suction machines for cleaning of drains.
