Demon Slayer Infinity Castle BREAKS Advance Booking Records, Becomes FIRST Anime Film To Have 5 AM Shows In India

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle is already making history in India even before its release. The much-awaited Japanese anime film has created a massive buzz with its unprecedented advance booking and is set to become the first-ever Japanese and anime film to have 5:00 am shows in India.

Demon Slayer slays its competition

Scheduled to release on Friday, September 13, the film has witnessed phenomenal demand since advance booking opened on September 5. Within hours, tickets began selling rapidly, especially for the Japanese 2D IMAX version, with several shows already sold out or nearing full occupancy.

In response to the overwhelming craze, cinema chains across India have added early morning shows – some as early as 5 am! The earliest show so far will be at Inox Megaplex, Pune, at 5:15 am, followed by Cinepolis Seawoods, Navi Mumbai, at 5:20 am. Other early slots include 6:30 am shows in Bengaluru (PVR Nexus, Inox Mantri Square, Inox Galleria Mall) and 6:40 am shows at PVR Vegas Dwarka and Inox Vishal Mall in Delhi.

Demon Slayer sells thousands of tickets

The response has been staggering: PVR sold 25,000 tickets, Cinepolis 6,000, and over 65,000 tickets were booked on BookMyShow in the past 24 hours alone, as per Bollywood Hungama. With rising demand, more such early shows are expected to be added in both IMAX and standard theatres across the country.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh wrote on X, “DEMON SLAYER’5 AM SHOWS TO BE HELD IN MANY PARTS OF INDIA… #DemonSlayerInfinityCastle becomes the first-ever anime film to release with 5 am shows in #India, with tickets selling fast and several shows already sold out. #SonyPicturesEntertainment, in collaboration with #CrunchyRoll, will release the film in over 750 screens nationwide – the widest release ever for an anime film in #India – across all formats.”

The overwhelming advance bookings signal a landmark moment for anime in India, cementing the growing influence of anime culture. Industry experts now predict a surprising box office start for the film.
