On two! Roland Michener football Rams start a new season
Season opener is Sept. 12

It’s high school football season already – at least as far as practicing goes – and the Roland Michener Rams were hard at it last week on a very hot afternoon, under the watchful eye of head coach Phillip Owen and his assistants Sean McConnell and Noah Bedard.
“We are excited going into this season,” Owen says. “We have a lot of new faces and a few returning ones. The culture we are building is starting to pay off as we now have a dedicated junior squad of the Grade 7s and 8s, who will act as our practice squad in order to gain the skills and knowledge to become better players before they are eligible to play in Grade 9.”
The Rams’ season and home opener goes on Friday, September 12th, at 4:30 p.m. Two more home games follow, on the 19th and 26th, before the team hits the road in October.
“Our big Friday Night Lights game will be in Westlock on October 17th at 7 p.m.,” Owen says.
