Mirai Actor Teja Sajja Recalls Getting Replaced In Films: It Was Like Heartbreak – EXCLUSIVE

Teja Sajja started working as a child actor in the Telugu film industry. After working as a child artist for many years, Teja took a break from movies. When he turned 19, the actor commenced his journey again by giving auditions. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Tejja recalled how he was replaced in the films frequently. The actor revealed that he realised ‘real business’ after he restarted his journey.

Teja Sajja on getting replaced in movies

Speaking exclusively to us, Teja shared he thought things would be easy for him in the industry as he worked with many directors and producers as a child actor. ” I started my journey. Then, after a year or so, I realised this is real business. People will only invest on you if they are planning to make a film and if you are apt for it and you have to work good and have to be suitable for that part. Then, the real struggle started. Things were not happening. Few films were announced.”

What happened next? The actor recalled projects would be cancelled at the last minute while some had budget issues. “Few had somebody calling them up and saying, ‘Why don’t you cast my son?’ I would invest some money. Few wanted to cast somebody coming from a family after finalising me.”

And every time something was finalised, Teja would be satisfied, and happy. He would even imagine giving pre-release event speech. “I’m sleeping on bed and I am like ‘Okay this film is over. Now I am giving the pre-release event speech. My film has released’. I used to imagine this, ‘my posters are on streets, my Friday is coming’,” he shared.

Teja Sajja was heartbroken after getting replaced

On a concluding note, the actor mentioned, “I used to imagine every single scene that was narrated to me in it and how I would be performing. So it’s a lot of dreams and suddenly you get a call saying that somebody else has been casted. Somebody called up and said that they would invest some money. Every single time that it happened, it was like a heartbreak. It used to happen frequently, every four to five months.”

On the work front, Teja will next be seen in Mirai. The film has been scheduled to release on September 12.
