Bison soccer blanked by Florida Atlantic – InForum
BOCA RATON, Fla. — The North Dakota State women’s soccer team began a two-game road trip on the wrong foot Sunday.
The Bison were blanked by Florida Atlantic 4-0 in their second-to-last nonconference tune-up before Summit League play begins.
Sloane Young netted two goals to lead the Owls while Hailey Santiago and Madison Micioni also scored for FAU.
Santiago scored three minutes in to give FAU the early advantage before Young added her first in the 23rd minute. The Owls took a 2-0 lead at halftime as Micioni scored in the 61st minute. Young tacked on her second of the match in the 66th to pull away.
FAU outshot NDSU 10-5, with a 7-5 advantage in shots on target. The Bison had five corner kick opportunities to the Owls’ four.
Leading NDSU offensively was Morgan Russmann with three shots on target. Gabrielle Garrett added two shots on target.
Payton Mulberry finished with two saves for NDSU while giving up three goals. Hannah Stipp recorded one save and allowed one goal.
NDSU (4-5-0) visits Washington State (1-2-3) on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 9 p.m.
