Nashville paid parking proposal not music to Music Row’s ears

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Nashville Department of Transportation is facing some parking pushback after proposing to add paid spots to the Music Row neighborhood.

NDOT requested approval from the traffic and parking commission which deferred the proposal to next month’s meeting.

Dave Pomeroy, president of the Nashville Musicians Association, says his 2,000+ members need the flexibility of being able to go in and out of studios for varying amounts of time.

As FOX 17 News reported the story, Metro Council Member Jacob Kupin weighed in on Johnny Maffei’s Facebook post saying he asked NDOT to reconsider and he believes alternative plans are in the works.

Kupin adds nothing will be official until October’s traffic and parking commission meeting.
