Since the unveiling of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vipin Das’ forthcoming film, Santhosh Trophy, fans of the actor have been eagerly awaiting any fresh details of it. Filming of this movie is reportedly scheduled to start by the end of September.

Filming update of Prithviraj’s Santhosh Trophy

Shooting for Santhosh Trophy is reportedly scheduled to start on September 29 at a number of locations in Vaikom. Rumour had it that the movie’s production will soon begin. On the other hand, there were no formal confirmations from the makers. The majority of the recent filming of Nivin Pauly’s Baby Girl took place in Vaikom in Kottayam district of Kerala. Meanwhile, the makers of Prithviraj’s other upcoming movie, Khalifa, have said that work is still in progress. It’s unclear if the actor will be filming for the Santhosh Trophy once Khalifa’s schedule is over. 

Vipin Das revealed that he and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s project would begin in 2024 during an interview with The Cue. However, it was delayed for unclear reasons. The film would mostly feature a group of newcomers along with Prithviraj, as the young director had previously confirmed. Expectations are high because Vipin’s earlier films were appreciated for their delightful storytelling approach and plots.

The actor most recently appeared in L2: Empuraan, his third film as a director. The 2019 film Lucifer’s sequel was a box office triumph, earning over Rs 250 crore globally, despite all the outrage that followed its theatrical debut in March. Prithviraj is also appearing in the upcoming Malayalam film Nobody, which is directed by Nissam Basheer. Given that the teaser for his additional movie, Vilayath Buddha, was released last month, it is anticipated to have a theatrical premiere soon. Sarzameen, Prithviraj’s most recent film, is accessible on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium. Moreover, the Aadujeevitham star will feature in the untitled Telugu film SSMB29, which was directed by SS Rajamouli.
