World Bank allocates grant to Azerbaijan for “Liveable Baku” project

The World Bank has allocated another grant to Azerbaijan within the framework of the “Liveable Baku” project, APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank.

According to the information the project is related to the restoration of the Absheron lakes and the development of surrounding areas. The funds will be used to update the existing feasibility studies and technical designs for Lake Zigh, Lake Khojasan, and Lake Boyukshor. Part of the grant will be directed toward consulting services related to these efforts.

Specifically, the consultant will review and update the existing feasibility studies for the restoration of the Absheron lakes. Considering that a significant amount of time has passed since the original feasibility and technical project documents were completed, it is now necessary to revise the studies for the Boyukshor, Khojasan, and Zigh lakes and their surrounding areas.

Work is planned to begin in November of this year, and the total cost is expected to be 500,000 US dollars.
