Music School’s Plan to Develop Talent

In a recent meeting with the Minister of Finance and Culture, Xiomara Maduro, the management of Rufo Wever Music School shared their plans to develop musical talent in Aruba. Their goal is to expand their services and offer more opportunities to the community, fostering a new generation of skilled musicians.

Expanding Music Education in the Community

For years, Scol di Musica has been a key provider of music education to both young people and adults. They operate at three different locations across Aruba: Cas di Cultura in Playa, the Scouting building in Santa Cruz, and Santa Theresita Center in San Nicolas. However, as remodeling begins on the House of Culture, the school must relocate its Playa branch to continue offering lessons.

To improve and expand music education, the board has expressed a need for a larger space where musicians can rehearse and ensembles can practice. This will allow the school to train even more aspiring musicians, giving them the space and resources they need to excel.

A Pathway for Future Musicians

Over the years, many students from Scol di Musica have pursued professional careers in music, attending conservatories in the Netherlands and America. With an expanded and improved facility, the Rufo Wever Music School can nurture even more talent, ensuring that Aruba remains a hub for musical excellence.

Minister Maduro is committed to supporting this initiative. By securing the necessary funding, the school will be able to offer enhanced musical training to more students, preparing them for both local and international opportunities.

Minister’s Support for Developing Musical Talent in Aruba

Minister Xiomara Maduro fully supports the music school’s vision to develop more musical talent in the community. Together with the school, they are working on securing funds that will enable the expansion of the school’s services and help realize the goal of a larger, more capable music facility.

The expansion of music education in Aruba not only helps young musicians grow but also strengthens the cultural fabric of the island. By investing in this initiative, Aruba can ensure that future generations have access to high-quality musical training, setting the stage for professional success.
