34 UoH faculty named among world’s top 2 per cent scientists by Stanford
Thirty-four retired and serving faculty from the University of Hyderabad have been ranked among the world’s top 2 per cent of highly cited scientists in Stanford/Elsevier’s August 2025 update, spotlighting both veteran researchers and rising scholars for their global academic contributions

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) announced that 34 of its retired and serving faculty members/associates have been recognized among the global top 2 per cent of highly cited scientists in the latest Stanford/Elsevier update of standardized citation indicators (August 2025).
In the career-long impact list, 24 UoH faculty members are recognized for their sustained contributions over decades of research. In the single-year 2024 impact list, eight more faculty members from UoH are featured, underlining the University’s mix of established scholars and younger researchers making a global mark through recent publications.
Among those recognized, the prominent names include Prof Goverdhan Mehta, Prof A S Raghavendra, Prof M N V Prasad, Prof Attipalli R Reddy, Prof Soma Venugopal Rao, and Prof Pramod K Nayar.
Several of these faculty members hold national and international awards, including Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prizes, fellowships of learned academies, Chairs, and the President of India’s Visitor’s Awards for excellence in research.
