While things felt rather warm on Thursday and sunny spells continued into Friday, the calendar doesn’t lie and there now isn’t too long to go until Christmas, And we’re now even more excited for the festive season, with the new that a cosy tipi showing loads of classic films will be opening up in Northumberland.

We’ll brace ourselves for shouts of ‘we’ve not even had Halloween yet!’ as we bring you yet another story about something happening for Christmas 2025 but, the fact of the matter is, whether you want to come to terms with the reality or not, there are now just three months to go until Santa comes, meaning that as well as this year flying by quicker than ever, you’ll want to start getting some festive plans in order. Ever since the start of the school summer holidays, as the region backed in temperatures hovering around 30 degrees, ChronicleLive has been keeping you updated with all the many events that will be happening in the region this winter.

Ones that have already had a big reaction include Santa themed events at Whitehouse Farm and Redfox Garden World, Eatflix’s Elf screenings which caused a ticket frenzy when they went on sale earlier this month, Christmas Town in County Durham and the return of Newcastle Christmas Market, which is being extended this year to include a new location in Newcastle city centre. And now there’s another one to add to the list, with the confirmation of Christmas movie screenings inside the Pavilion Tipi in Morpeth park.

As well as being available for private hire for Christmas parties, the tipi, set to open in November, is sure to attract plenty of families to its Magical Movie Mondays, which will include showings of an array of films including Elf, The Polar Express and The Holiday. The events will begin with The Grinch on November 17, with tickets, each including one festive drink and some popcorn, set to be available soon.

The film line-up in full is:

Monday, November 17- The Grinch

Monday, November 24 – The Polar Express

Monday, December 1 – Elf

Monday, December 8 – The Holiday

Monday, December 15 – Home Alone 2
