The early morning event, jointly organised by Delhi Tourism Department, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, and the Land Ports Authority of India, drew huge crowds. Besides spreading the message of fit and active life, the community run also highlighted the importance of tourism and sustainable development.

Speaking on the occasion, Mishra stated that Delhi tourism has gained a renewed push. “Delhi has gained several modern tourist attractions such as the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, Kartavya Path, and War Memorial,” he added.

The minister also spotlighted the efforts of his government to make the city more than a transit hub, where tourists stay and explore, giving it a unique identity at the international level.

Sunita Godara, the torchbearer of fitness campaigns across the nation coordinated the entire event. Former Union Minister Vijay Goel joined Saturday morning Champion’s run.
