Business registration records on the Tianyancha app show that Wuhan Archimedes Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and Xinciyuan Semiconductor (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. recently completed corporate registration changes in succession, with Hanxing Venture Capital Co., Ltd. added as a shareholder in both companies. Hanxing Venture Capital is wholly owned by Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd., meaning Xiaomi-affiliated capital brought two chip design companies into its investment portfolio within the same window.

The shareholder structures of the two targets differ. Wuhan Archimedes Semiconductor this round also brought in CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited), creating a shareholding lineup in which Xiaomi and CATL appear together; Xinciyuan Semiconductor added only Hanxing Venture Capital as a new shareholder, with registered capital rising from CNY 1.24375 million (approximately $190,000) to about CNY 1.3202 million (approximately $200,000).

In terms of shareholding ratios, Hanxing Venture Capital holds 2% of Wuhan Archimedes Semiconductor and 4.014% of Xinciyuan Semiconductor; CATL holds a 4% stake in Wuhan Archimedes Semiconductor.

Xinciyuan Semiconductor (Hangzhou) Hanxing Venture Capital 4.014% Registered capital increased to about CNY 1.3202 million (approximately $200,000)

Note: Shareholder and registered capital information comes from corporate registration change records on the Tianyancha app.

Both portfolio companies have business scopes covering integrated circuit design, integrated circuit chip design and services, and related segments. Wuhan Archimedes Semiconductor was established in January this year, and its business scope also extends to integrated circuit manufacturing and sales, and integrated circuit chip and product manufacturing.

Xiaomi’s move to take stakes in chip design companies through its investment platform continues its positioning along the semiconductor supply chain; the joint shareholding by CATL and Xiaomi in Wuhan Archimedes Semiconductor gives the company, less than a year old, two industry shareholders at once.
