Without greater Access to humanitarian Aid, Gaza will face complete Famine by November
On Saturday, Norway issued sharp criticism of Israel’s “brutal war” in Gaza, accusing Tel Aviv of violating the rules of warfare.
“Israel’s brutal war in Gaza involves indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks, along with measures that prevent the population from receiving humanitarian aid. This is a clear violation of the rules of warfare,” said Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide in a statement.
Eide emphasized that Israeli authorities continue to severely restrict access to food and essential emergency aid for people in Gaza.
Without greater access to humanitarian assistance and commercial food trade, “Gaza will face complete famine by November,” he warned.
“Civilians, the sick, and the wounded must receive protection, food, and essential medical aid,” the Norwegian minister stressed.
Eide underlined that a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and sufficient emergency aid for Gaza’s citizens are crucial initial steps.
“Only a two-state solution and adherence to international law can ensure lasting stability and security in the Middle East. I urge all sides to de-escalate and engage in negotiations,” Eide concluded.
