Louis Vuitton Launches LV Art Silk Squares Collection

Louis Vuitton presents an exciting new addition to its rich history of artistic collaborations: the LV Art Silk Squares. This collection brings together five renowned contemporary artists, each reimagining the iconic Louis Vuitton silk square, also known as the carré. The artists, including eBoy, Icinori, Lorenzo Mattotti, Nicolas de Crécy, and Thomas Ott, have previously worked with Louis Vuitton on the “Travel Book” series and are now lending their talents to this vibrant collection.

The theme of the collection is centered around the reinterpretation of the Louis Vuitton Monogram’s four-petal flower, bringing fresh perspectives to the Maison’s iconic codes. The silk squares are produced in Como, Italy, a region renowned for its silk craftsmanship. Through a meticulous process, the artists’ intricate designs are transferred onto the finest white silk, resulting in luxurious pieces that can be worn or displayed as art.

Each silk square highlights the creativity of the artists: eBoy’s “Maze of Precious” explores the Louis Vuitton Monogram within a pixel-art labyrinth, while Icinori’s “Malles Monde” celebrates the Maison’s travel heritage. Lorenzo Mattotti’s “Iris Spring” pays homage to Art Nouveau elements from Louis Vuitton’s history, and Nicolas de Crécy’s “Parfums de Méditerranée” captures the essence of Louis Vuitton’s fragrances. Finally, Thomas Ott’s “Urban Flowers” transforms city life into a poetic black-and-white landscape.

The collection, available in Louis Vuitton stores and online, continues Louis Vuitton’s legacy of blending art with craftsmanship, offering customers a unique opportunity to own a piece of wearable art.
