New Delhi: After the devastating loss against Sri Lanka in the last test series, the Kiwis are set to take on their assignment i.e. a series against the No. 1 Test side, Team India. Both teams are coming into the contest under contrasting circumstances. While the New Zealand team is coming after a 2-0 thrashing at the hands of Sri Lanka, the Indian team thrashed a much-hyped Bangladeshi side 2-0 to maintain their home dominance.
The New Zealand side which was once the title-winner of the World Test Championship in 2021 has fallen from its glory days. The Kiwis are currently in the sixth position. Apart from the cumulative success of the side, individual Indian players have also shone brightly. Recently, Jasprit Bumrah also reclaimed his No. 1 spot in the ICC bowlers’ ranking following his stellar effort against the Bangladesh test series.
According to the schedule, the first test will be played from 16-20 October at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The second Test will be played 24-28 October at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Furthermore, the third and final Test will take place from 1-5 November at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
