Rohtak Farmers Demand Urgent Release of Crop Loss Insurance | Chandigarh News

Rohtak: Farmers converged outside the agriculture deputy director’s office here Wednesday, demanding the release of pending insurance for crop loss. They were protesting under the aegis of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS).
AIKS district secretary Balwan Singh said they discussed concerns related to compensation and pending insurance before marching to the district agriculture office, where they submitted a memo to agri officer Surendra Malik.
In the memo, the farmers urged the authorities to release insurance for wheat, mustard and vegetable crops destroyed by a hailstorm in March. They also demanded immediate settlement of claims for cotton and other crops damaged last year. tnn
