AKIPRESS.COM – The Ministry of Culture plans to demolish the building of the Murataly Kurenkeyev National Music College and rebuild it, First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Chyngyz Esengul uulu said.

The Deputy Minister said the current building does not have a basement and its foundation is low.

“It is planned to build the same building of the same format, shape, arrangement and standard. There are such plans,” the First Deputy Minister of Culture said.

He also said that the Music College building is on the list of the state program for the preservation, study and conduct of archaeological excavations of historical and cultural heritage sites for 2023-2027 as a building of historical and cultural significance.

“We are going to remove it from this list [for demolition of the building]. This list includes a lot of buildings. But over time, they need to be updated, reconstructed, and those that are in a state of disrepair demolished,” Deputy Minister Chyngyz Esengul uulu explained.

The Music College was opened in 1939. In 1945, the Music College was named after the people’s composer and komuz player Murataly Kurenkeyev.
