Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet opens the Divali Festival, celebrating light, culture, and tourism.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya hosted the “Divali Festival,” celebrating the festival of lights and promoting cultural ties between Thailand and India. The opening ceremony, held on October 24, was presided over by Vithaya Khunplome, Chonburi Provincial Governor, with Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet reporting on the festival’s objectives. The event drew enthusiastic participation from city officials, provincial executives, government and private sectors, as well as Thai and Indian residents.

Organized by the City of Pattaya in collaboration with the Thai-Indian Business Association and the Indian Association, the festival runs from October 24–26, 4:00 p.m. to midnight, at Pattaya Beach. The event aims to stimulate tourism and the local economy while showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India, elevating Pattaya as a center for international cultural events.

Festival activities include traditional Indian cultural performances, authentic Indian food stalls, a lighting ceremony, and music and entertainment throughout the night.

Mayor Poramet invited both locals and tourists to experience the vibrant atmosphere filled with lights, colors, and warmth, emphasizing that the festival strengthens Thai-Indian relations while adding vibrancy to Pattaya’s global tourism appeal.
