LIVE: Folk/Punk Music Festival in Downtown Fargo

FARGO — It’s the return of a musical mashup that mixes punk with folk.

Bindle Fest V is coming to downtown Fargo Saturday.

The mix of genres features more acoustic settings than you might expect from a traditional punk music performance, and allows musicians to include instruments like banjo, mandolin, horns, and washboard.

The bands performing this weekend come from here in North Dakota and Minnesota, as well as across the greater midwest, and from California.

Bindle Fest organizer Wil Burns joined the Morning Show for a live interview about the sound of folk/punk, how audiences who might be challenged by traditional punk sound can find this music surprisingly accessible, and gave the show a sneak peek at this weekend’s show with the help of his band Moo Shoes in a live, in-studio performance of their song, “Cold Sweats.”
