At least one couple nears their breaking point.

Corona Goes Out With Girlfriends

Corona heads to a museum with two girlfriends, telling the cameras she knows it’s important to hang out with people outside of her relationship with Ingi. She shares with them the bad news about midwifery school in Iceland, and that she’d have to wait at least another year before starting. That said, she tells the women that she really cares about Ingi and wants to make things work between them.

Then, ironically as they’re at the phallological museum, Corona confesses that she and Ingi have only had sex four times over the past year. However, she admits she’s partially at fault, as once while they were going at it, she injured him in his most sensitive area, making it hard for him to perform. Her two friends ask Corona if she’s sure she and Ingi are monogamous, noting that they’d seen him “chatting” with other women in the past. While the two have only been exclusive for about six months, Corona is confident in Ingi’s commitment to her and wonders what the women are talking about.

Later, Corona confronts Ingi about talking to women at bars when she’s not in town. He tells her he has nothing to hide, and that anyone he was talking to was just a friend. If anything, he’s frustrated that she’s doubting his commitment to him, making him defensive. This makes Corona bring up if he’s actually serious about getting married, to which he replies that they’ve only been dating exclusively for a short while and that marriage itself doesn’t mean that much to him. “I don’t need to put a ring on her finger to prove my commitment to her,” he tells the producers.

For her part, to the cameras, Corona admits she doesn’t think Ingi understands how big of a sacrifice she’s making for him:

There are a lot of things that I’m just like, ‘What if, what if, what if?’ And that’s terrifying.

James Butts Heads With Meitalia’s Sister

We pick up with James and Meitalia, where James tries durian for the first time, noting it smells like “rotting human flesh” and spitting it out in the street. The two are preparing to meet up with Meitalia’s sister Angel, who previously spread rumors about James’ dating past. Since then, Angel has apologized for making up lies, but it’s still put a strain on her relationship with Meitalia.

Things get tense as the couples discuss financial matters.

When the sisters reunite for the first time in three years, they cry tears of joy while James watches on awkwardly. Angel admits she can’t trust James, as he and Meitalia met over Instagram and then her sister suddenly moved away. When Meitalia shares that she and James are moving to Indonesia, Angel doesn’t seem as happy as they’re expecting. Instead, she tells the cameras that she’s doubtful of James’ ability to provide for her younger sister:

I cannot accept James in my life as her husband because James is not going to find a job here. I mean, James just speaks English, and I just worry if they have to go back to the USA. I don’t want to lose her forever.

Sean Meets Joanne’s Mother

Now that everyone knows they’re married, Sean and Joanne prepare to meet with Joanne’s mother Donna over a video call. “So you’re my son-in law and I’m just meeting you now,” she says. “I need an answer!” Sean apologizes for only telling her now, not meaning to disrespect her. Donna wants to know who’s going to live where as they move forward, and he admits they haven’t fully thought it through.

Joanne shares with the cameras that she hasn’t heard from her son Joey since he got back to the US, which worries her. If her kids really are that opposed to her living in Ireland, she may reconsider. “I just can’t grasp how this is going to work,” Donna says of the couple’s lack of plans before she hangs up.

Vivian Looks Out For Her Mother Lily

Meanwhile in China, Lily and her daughter Vivian walk through a market together the day after their argument with Josh. Lily defends Josh to her daughter, saying that though he may have some issues with his character, she believes him to be a good person at heart. Vivian doesn’t seem satisfied and presses her mom about what actually works in her mother’s relationship, even asking if they have sex often enough, to which Lily says they don’t.

Vivian is shocked when Lily admits she and Josh haven’t had sex in seven months, making her question how they can possibly be getting married the next day. To the cameras, Vivian states that she doesn’t believe Josh loves her mother and that she only sees him criticizing her. “Is that love?” she asks, skeptical.

90 Day Fiance The Other Way Poster

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way flips the script on the original series. Couples who have never met face to face and have 90 days to get married switch roles. The Americans in the relationship will now head overseas for their culture shock. India, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Russia are just some countries where the show observes the blossoming (or faltering) 90-day relationship that will end happily ever after or a one-way ticket back home alone.
