Graduate student Bridget Abraldes of the University of Scranton field hockey team has been named the Peggy’s Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Oct. 20, 2024.

In Saturday’s 4-0 win over Juniata, Abraldes broke the single-season assists record with her 12th assist of the season. The record was previously held by classmate Katie Redding, who set the record in 2021.

The Holbrook, NY native ranks third all-time in career assists, just five shy of Redding’s record (32). Abraldes also added a goal in each of the team’s contests this week, both of which were game-winners. She also added two more assists in the team’s 3-0 win over Wilkes on Tuesday.

Abraldes and the Royals return to Weiss Field tomorrow, October 22 to take on Drew University  at 7:00 PM.
